What a treat to be able to share my gelli prints in an art show at Satchel’s in Gainesville.

My display includes azalea blossoms and tree leaves I’ve collected on nature walks and then transformed into colorful artwork.

I love how gelli printing captures the design and texture of leaves, plants and blossoms. I arrange the plants on a gelatin plate and then decide which colors of acrylic paint to use.

Do I want to duplicate the color of the leaf or blossom? Do I want to create a leaf or blossom in a surprising color?

Using a soft rubber brayer and a selection of acrylic paints, I create each unique print.

Thanks to Judy Robinson for inviting me to be part of her art show. She is displaying her oil paintings of birds at Sweetwater Wetlands Park and other artwork, including paintings on cigar box lids.
