The 243 grades are entered and finalized — meaning that the grades have been sent to the UF grade administrator. Paige (my lecture assistant) and I went lab by lab and then student by student, entering and then checking each grade.
With a big class like this, I’m always interested in seeing how many of the students (beyond the students in my own lab) that I know by name. I know some because they’ve been very ill or had family emergencies. I’ve also gotten to know some who have been out-going and talked with me before or after lecture or during office hours. Then there are those I’ve met because they have been in to see me about their grades. Some I know by name but haven’t met as they have been selected by their lab instructors as having written the best news release or created the best ad in their labs.
