How can/should colleges incorporate multimedia into the curriculum?

Curriculum Issues in the Age of the New Media is the topic for discussion with Sara Quinn, Poynter Institute faculty.

Sara asked us:

  • Can you can hang your hopes on one person — that new multimedia hire?
  • Do you think you’re going to have that one course that will take care of multimedia instruction?
  • How can you infuse that thinking into the whole curriculum?

Sara said that’s there even confusion about what multimedia is. That doesn’t mean just video. That doesn’t mean just Flash. We can’t agree on what multimedia is…and that’s OK. You need multimedia thinking.
