Not all authors are enthusiastic about paperless books
J.K. Rowling continues to be one of the authors who oppose having their work in e-book format. “Harry Potter among those missing in e-library” discusses the authors who resisted having digital versons of their work (including Rowling) and those who finally have agreed to e-book versions (including Tom Clancy).
Some of the concerns are about copyright and the ability to have illegal digital versions on the Web. Some concerns are about the royalty rate for the authors versus the publishers. Other concerns deal with the author’s perception of the reading experience — the book versus the screen.
